# Guide for teachers

> Setup and daily use for instructors using Coraltalk

This guide walks through setup and daily use for instructors using Coraltalk on their own or within a school organization.

## Create your account

    Go to [coraltalk.com](https://coraltalk.com) and choose **Sign up**

    Choose **I'm an educator** (on mobile you may be taken to a dedicated educator signup page)
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose authentication">
    Sign up with **email** (verification code) or **Google**
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create your first class">
    After signup, you'll be guided to **upload your syllabus** and create your first **class** (teaching assistant)
  </Step>

<Note>
  If you were invited to a school, accept the invitation first — you will land on **home** and can create courses/classes inside the org.

## Home and class list

**Home** shows:

* **My Courses** (organization teachers) — select a course, then see its classes
* **Self-paced learning** (where enabled) — independent practice outside a formal class
* **Create new class** / **Create new course** — empty states when you have nothing yet

Click a class card to open that class. Teachers land on the class **Summary** page with quick links to assessments and TA setup.

From Summary you can launch:

## Sidebar navigation (inside a class)

Typical teacher items:

## Invite students to your class

Use **Copy student link** in the sidebar to share a join URL. Students can also use a **class code** from **Class List**.

  Send the class link via your LMS announcement, email, or share it during the first day of class.

## Create assessments

  Best for explaining understanding, defending written work, or structured oral Q\&A. Students have one-to-one conversations with Coral who evaluates against your rubric.

  Best for scenarios, negotiation practice, language conversation. Students engage in realistic role-based dialogues.

  Best for quick video responses and peer replies. Similar to Flipgrid but with deeper engagement.

<Accordion title="Live oral exams">
  Scheduled exam sessions when your institution uses them. High-stakes assessments with optional proctoring features.

## Review student work

Open an assignment to see **submissions**, AI **evaluation**, grades, and transcripts. Use filters for unwatched or by grade band.
