# Guide for students

> How to join classes and complete assignments in Coraltalk

This guide helps students join classes, complete oral assignments, and use Coraltalk's learning features.

## Join a class

    Your teacher will share a **class link** or **class code** via email, LMS, or during class

    If you don't have an account yet:

    * Go to [coraltalk.com](https://coraltalk.com) and click **Sign up**
    * Choose **I'm a student**
    * Sign up with email or Google
  </Step>

  <Step title="Join the class">
    * Click the class link, OR
    * Enter the class code on your home page
  </Step>

  <Step title="Start learning">
    You'll see your class dashboard with available assignments and the 24/7 teaching assistant
  </Step>

<Tip>
  If your school uses Canvas, you may launch Coraltalk directly from your Canvas course — no separate login needed after the first time.

## Your class dashboard

After joining, your class shows:

## Chat with your teaching assistant (Coral)

## Complete oral assignments

    Click on an oral assignment from **Oral Learning**

  <Step title="Allow microphone access">
    Your browser will ask for microphone permission — click **Allow**
  </Step>

  <Step title="Have the conversation">
    * Coral will ask you questions based on the assignment
    * Speak naturally and clearly
    * Answer follow-up questions as they come
  </Step>

  <Step title="Submit">
    When finished, submit your oral assignment
  </Step>

  <Step title="Wait for evaluation">
    Coral will evaluate your responses (may take several minutes)
  </Step>

  <Step title="View feedback">
    Check your grade and feedback when ready (visibility depends on teacher settings)

  **Testing your microphone**: Click the microphone icon before starting to test your audio. Speak clearly and in a quiet environment for best results.

## Complete roleplay assignments

Roleplay assignments put you in realistic scenarios:

1. Open the roleplay assignment
2. Read the scenario and your role
3. Have a natural conversation with the AI character
4. Complete the objectives given in the scenario
5. Submit and wait for evaluation

**Examples**:

* Practice a job interview
* Negotiate as a business professional
* Have a conversation in a foreign language
* Play a historical figure in a debate

## Participate in Vid Tickets

Vid tickets let you record video responses and engage with classmates:

## Tips for success

## Troubleshooting
